What do I need to bring on my Coromandel adventure?

A sense of humour – everything else is optional…and some like to travel extra light!

However you may wish to consider the following for your own comfort:
  • Camera
  • Swimming Gear – the Coromandel is surrounded by excellent swimming beaches, perfect for the summer months, and in winter there are some great thermal pools including the world-famous Hot Water Beach
  • Sunscreen
  • Insect repellent
  • Water
  • Suitable footwear – this means sneakers, sports shoes, rock hoppers, sandals – especially if you plan to be walking or going to the beach
  • Warm clothes
  • Jacket
  • Essential personal items such as medication

Do I need to bring my own lunch or is it supplied?

Meals are not included on your Coromandel tour unless specified, however lunches may be booked in advance. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements. Alternatively, please ask on the day, as there will be somewhere to stop during your trip to purchase food as required. Click here to contact Coromandel Adventures for more information.

Where do I get picked up for my day trip?

Coromandel Adventures has one regular pick up point for all our trips. You can find this in the car park behind the Coromandel Information Centre, Woollams Ave, Coromandel Town.

Alternatively, arrangements can be made, when possible, for pick-ups from your accommodation, or other prominent points around town. Please enquire about these alternatives when you make your booking, or click here to contact us.

Where do I get picked up if I want to go on the 360 Discovery Ferry?

The shuttle for the 360 Discovery Ferry picks passengers up from the car park behind the Samuel James Reserve in the centre of Coromandel Town - please click here to view this location on a Google map.

What if I only want a one way ticket because I’m not intending to return to Coromandel Town?

That’s just fine. We pride ourselves on being able to customise our Coromandel tours to suit your plans. Just let us know when you book and we’ll adjust your fare to suit.

What happens if the weather becomes too bad to go on a planned trip?

The Coromandel is known for it’s stunning blue skies as well as wild wet days. It is important to understand that sometimes you will simply have to dress for the weather on the day as we can’t guarantee great weather all the time – nor would we have the stunning landscape we have if this was a reality! Sometimes it may become necessary to amend or cancel a trip due to adverse weather or road conditions. Whenever possible we will have a back-up plan available, however when Coromandel Adventures needs to cancel a scheduled trip due to adverse conditions a full refund will be provided.

What happens if I need to cancel my booking for reasons other than bad weather?

Trips can only be confirmed once payment is made. Cancellations received prior to 48 hours of your booking incur a 25% administration and booking fee. If you cancel within 48 hours, your booking is non-refundable because all of our arrangements such as staffing will have been put in place. You may however transfer your booking to an alternative date only incurring penalty charges if we do.

What are the risks that I need to consider?

Your safety is our priority, however there is always an element of risk associated with road transport and the activities you choose to participate in. Coromandel Adventures cannot be held responsible for personal injury, loss or damage to equipment.

What should I do if I have any medical conditions?

If you have medical or health conditions we should be aware of it is important to tell us when booking, or talk to the driver. Although all our drivers have completed First Aid training, medical help can be some distance away depending on our location at the time. Your health and safety is our priority, and it helps if we are prepared incase of an emergency.
