Driving Creek Railway is one of Coromandel’s most popular attractions and suitable for all ages - a one hour round trip on a narrow gauge mountain train through a replanted forest up to the Eyeful Tower viewing platform featuring a superb view over the Coromandel Town, harbour and beyond. Coromandel Adventures DCR shuttle service departs Coromandel Town at 12.15pm and returns at 2pm. Bookings are essential.

Departing from behind the Coromandel Information Centre, Coromandel Adventures shuttle provides a convenient service connecting you from Coromandel Town to the 12.45pm train at Driving Creek Railway, 3km from town. Enjoy the 1 hour return trip on N.Z’s only narrow gauge mountain railway that takes you through replanted native kauri forest as it climbs up to the Eyefull Tower. With the bird sanctuary, art gallery and Driving Creek Café 200m down the road there is plenty to see and do.
